Where the bone quality and the primary stability of the implant are found to be sufficient, a temporary fixed prosthesis may be fitted in the same session in which the implants are placed. The permanent prosthesis is prepared once the healing period is complete. A soft diet and avoiding hard foods are recommended during the first weeks. Immediate loading is not suitable for every patient; where the primary stability is not found to be sufficient, a delayed protocol is preferred. This assessment is determined by measurements taken during surgery, and results may vary from person to person.
