Laminate veneers are thin porcelain restorations cemented onto the front surface of the tooth. With limited preparation, adjustments are made to the shade and form of the tooth and to the gaps between the teeth. The lifespan of the restoration varies according to the oral care, the occlusal relationship and the habits of the patient; chewing hard objects or a clenching habit may shorten it. In patients with bruxism (teeth clenching), the use of a protective guard is recommended.
